Trying Out a New Christmas Party Idea
from:The sad truth is many people get burnt out on Christmas parties long before the season is over. The same menus, guests, and decorations begin to get boring after awhile. So what is the holiday host/hostess to do? Coming up with a new Christmas party idea can be difficult. While planning your party keep in mind to plan it with your guests in mind. In other words don’t plan a formal holiday party for people more comfortable with jeans, beer, and pizza.
One unique Christmas party idea that saves a great deal of time and effort on your part is a holiday show or movie party. All you have to do is invite your guests to bring a dish or dessert to your home two-three hours before the movie is set to start. Delegate someone to purchase the tickets online ahead of time. Once everyone arrives, eat, drink, and be merry. Just make sure you leave in time to see the previews. This party has a lot of benefits for the party thrower. Limited amounts of food preparation and getting to enjoy a movie with friends are fantastic reasons to give a party like this.
If there is one thing about Christmas shopping that is a pain in the neck; it’s that it can get very boring. Why not turn shopping into a Christmas party idea? Meet up with your favorite buddies or someone who can snoop out the great sales, and make a day of shopping until you drop. Break for lunch at a terrific restaurant. Later in the day, head back to your home with purchases and friends in tow. Have some wine and cheese, or hot chocolate and cookies ready to round out the night with some gossip and gift-wrapping. It’s a great way to take care of a chore in a pleasant way.
This Christmas party idea will only work with your closest friends. Have a Christmas light party. Plan a simple menu of homemade soup or stew, some bread or rolls, and be sure to have plenty of hot tea, coffee, and cocoa available for your guests. The premise of the party is simple. Get everyone together to help you put up your outdoor Christmas decorations. When that is taken care of, meet in the kitchen for a hot bowl of soup and some great company.
With all of these options in front of you, it should be easy to decide which one of these Christmas party ideas will work for you and your guests. When you send out invitations make sure everyone on your guest list knows that this is not the same old, same old Christmas party. You’ll get a lot more acceptances that way.
