94. Nightmare Before Christmas Costumes
from:Walt Disney had a huge hit with their Gothic horror movie the Nightmare Before Christmas. Horror movies seem to be growing in popularity and one that has Christmas in its title was bound to be a hit. Most movies that are made with Christmas in the title seem to get replayed year after year. They stick in the minds of the public and this is evident in the popularity of the by products of these movies-music, teeshirts, figurines and costumes are a growth industry in themselves. In some respects, the advent of Nightmare Before Christmas costumes has changed the kinds of dressing up that adults do at Christmas. Most things about Christmas remain the same year after year and families continue with the same traditions-choosing the Christmas turkey and getting it ready, stirring the mixture for the Christmas cake and dressing the tree which are part of most people’s Christmas celebrations. But since the success of that film there has been a demand for Nightmare Before Christmas costumes.
Another thing that both children and adults like to do at Christmas time is to dress up in Christmas costumes. Many children take part in school and church nativity plays and often family members find themselves called upon to dress an angel or a shepherd or the virgin Mary. Adults, for the most part, dress themselves in Santa costumes or the costumes of Santa’s helpers. These costumes tend to be popular and therefore big business year after year.
More recently there has been a shift. While some festivities, Halloween for example continue in the same traditions and the costumes remain the same, witches and devils and spooks, there has been a change in some of the costumes people choose at Christmas. Nightmare Before Christmas costumes are gaining in popularity and all over the internet vendors are advertising these costumes. Those people who choose Nightmare Before Christmas costumes have to decide between the two major characters from the film, Jack Skellington and Sally. Those people who are invited to parties with the theme from the film will be looking to buy Nightmare Before Christmas costumes.
If you look on the internet you can buy Jack Skellington suits with the ascot collar and distinctive bow tie. Nightmare Before Christmas costumes would not be complete without a Jack Skellington scary mask. Some people will want to go to these parties as a couple so along with the Jack Skellington suit and scary mask they will be looking to buy a Sally costume. The Sally costume includes a long patchwork dress and the glovettes, Sallys will also have a red wig with their costume but will have to provide their own boots.
